I know it's getting hard for some of you truckers out there. Loads are
down for some companies and there are more truckers looking for jobs,
especially those of you who are new to the industry. The Bible says
that in the last days, perilous times will come. It also says these are
the birth pangs foreshadowing the Return of Jesus Christ. It may get a
little better for a time, but ultimately the Bible teaches things will
eventually transpire to bring about the one world government under the
Antichrist. We Christian won't be here when that happens, but we may go
through a period of deep trial and persecution before the Rapture...AND
I BELEIVE IN THE RAPTURE ! However, God is still on the throne and
still all powerful. I remember reading a book years ago by J.B.
Phillips who wrote the Phillips translation of the New Testament. The
book was entitled: Your God Is Too Small: A Guide for Believers and Skeptics Alike
. He was writing about Christians who fretted and worried about God not
being able to take care of them. My question to you is, "How big is
YOUR God?" Mine is pretty big. Big enough to take care of us all. When
we fret and worry, the problem is not that God is not around and
involved. The real problem is that we don't have our eyes on Him.
Remember when Peter walked on the water to Jesus? Jesus told him to
come and Peter got out of the boat and started walking on the water to
Jesus. It was only when he took his eyes off Jesus and started looking
at his surroundings and the waves when he began to sink. Dear friends
and fellow truckers, please keep your eyes on Jesus no matter what
happens. He'll get us through this. I'm in my 50's and been a Christian
since I was about 5 years old. There have been a lot of times I
worried. In fact that is one of my weaknesses. I tend to be a worrier.
The fact of the matter is though, God has always gotten me through the
difficulties of life.
The Israelites did the same thing. God brought them out of Egypt in a
mighty and miraculous way and performed miracles along the way. Yet
time and again, when they faced a new difficulty they started worrying.
We all do that. So when the worrying starts just try to remember all
the past difficulties God got you through. He didn't bail you out of
all those past problems just to let you be overcome by another one.
Problems are meant to strengthen our faith in Him. It wouldn't help our
faith to grow if everything was a bed of roses now would it?
P.S. It also helps to saturate our minds with the Word of God daily, so
don't get slack in doing that. Bible reading is to the spiritual being
as food is to the physical body.
