Loads are down because of the economy and jobs are hard to come by in certain fields. We need to hang together and pray for each other that God will either provide us the work we need or lead us into another field of endeavor if that is what He wants. If you have a special prayer request for yourself or someone else, please post it in the forum. There is a special section there for prayer requests . Also read through the posts and remember to pray each day for each other. Prayer does indeed change things. A lot of times we pray superficially or give up before the answer comes. Why does God seem to delay answers sometimes? There are various reasons, but three are:
1. He wants to change something else in our lives first. For instance, maybe He wants to lead us in a different direction than the one in which we are going.
2. He wants us to realize how much we want something or need Him to provide. When things seem hopeless and we pray fervently, then God answers so we will know it came from Him and not just through our own efforts. If we are not willing to spend a lot of time in prayer for something, that is an indication it is not really high on our priority list. God already knows how much we want or desire something. If we do not engage in a lot of prayer for something, we are really telling ourselves that what we desire is not worth the effort of praying about it.
3. Sometimes, God wants us to enlist the prayer support of others. God answers "corporate" prayer where a lot of Christians are praying for each other. This is the way God has set things up so we can be a part of His answering prayer for other Christians.
I suggest you create a written prayer list to pray about each day. This will help you to be consistent in praying for the things you need to pray for. Prayer works, plain, pure, and simple. If it doesn't seem to be working for you, do a topical study of prayer in the Bible and learn how to really pray. There are also some downloadable books on this website on the subject. Be sure to download them and read them.
